A little information about Jim O'Leary: Jim O’Leary was born in Waterford, Ireland in 1944. He began his 50-year career at Waterford at age 15 as an apprentice cutter, then master cutter at age 24 and later, became the company’s director of design. He sadly passed away in 2013 from cancer at age 69. Among his most significant designs are the Araglin, Carina and Castlemaine patterns; The Romance of Ireland collection; and the Star of Peace, which were the first Waterford Crystal panels to be placed on the Millennium Ball in NYC's Times Square in 1999.
